Janet Sperling

Janet Sperling was trained as an entomologist, which is when she first learned about Lyme disease. After completing an MSc on the physiology of beetles, she took time off to raise 4 boys. When the oldest in 2004 fell desperately ill at the age of 15, she was faced with the prospect of caring for a severely ill teenager as well as his three younger brothers. After nine months with no clear diagnosis, she and her husband decided to explore the possibility of Lyme disease. The treatment that followed the diagnosis allowed their son to return to his former good health. Jim Wilson

Jim Wilson is President and founder of the Canadian Lyme Disease Foundation, is himself a victim of Lyme disease and is the father of victims of Lyme disease. He’s been involved in networking with Lyme victims and providing them with scientific information for over 15 years. His background in the investigation of medical malpractice and legal liability has given him insight into medical research. In the medical research on Lyme disease he found conflict of evidence and conflict of interest. Both of these, he says, are rife within the medical industry.
