Nepal is a small, but strategically located country of approximately 30 million people situated between China and India. It is a land of great beauty, with 10 designated UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Formerly called a Hindu Kingdom, it endured a violent civil war that lasted over 10 years, and created unprecedented political and social upheaval throughout the country. It is now struggling to find its political, social and economic foothold nationally and globally, that will bring its people peace and sustainable development.
