Famed costume designer Deborah Landis, known for her iconic designs for such movies as “Animal House,” “Indiana Jones,” and “Coming to America,” will entertain listeners with stories from her thirty-year career working with legendary directors such as John Landis, Steven Spielberg, Louis Malle, and Costa Gavras. She will discuss her latest project as senior guest curator for the blockbuster exhibition “Hollywood Costume” at London’s Victoria and Albert Museum as well as her latest publication, “Hollywood Sketchbook: A Century of Costume Illustration.”

Deborah Landis

Costume designer Deborah Landis has collaborated with directors John Landis, Steven Spielberg, Louis Malle, and Costa Gravas in her iconic designs for films such as “Animal House,” “Indiana Jones” and “Coming to America” (for which she was nominated for an Academy Award). She received her Master’s in Fine Arts degree in Costume Design from UCLA and her PhD in the History of Design from the Royal College of Art in London. She is a 30-year member of the Costume Designer’s Guild, for which she served two terms as president. She is a Professor at the University of the Arts in London and holds the David C.
