There is a crisis in the State judicial system, and its impacting citizens and businesses alike. According to the National Center for State Courts, 47 states have experienced funding reductions since 2010. These cuts have resulted in widespread service reductions, reduced operating hours and layoffs in some jurisdictions. In some smaller communities, courthouses are even closing for good. State courts handle 95 percent of all cases filed and processed each year so the crisis affects everything from resolving custody disputes, to upholding business contracts, to civil litigation.
