This week’s program will be a free-flowing discussion with one of the museum world’s greatest thought leaders. Elaine Heumann Gurian has dedicated her career working in and for museums. Her perspective, teaching and writing continues to shape a generation of museum professionals. An hour with her is not nearly enough time to discuss all of the issues facing museums today, so we will focus on some of her latest musings including the concept of the “good news” museum, how museum professionals segment and describe their audiences, and the issue of free admission.
