Colonel Morgenthaler is a woman of many firsts. She was one of the first women to enter ROTC and train as an equal with men. She was the first woman battalion commander in the 88th Regional Support Command; she was the first woman brigade commander in the 84th Division; and she was the first woman Homeland Security Advisor for the State of Illinois. Stacie Stigar is the owner of The UPS Store franchise in Palmer, Alaska, a small community about 40 miles north of Anchorage. While she was still Executive Director of the United Way, Stacie had frequented a local The UPS Store and was always impressed with the owner’s ingenuity, and customer service. Inspired, Stacie decided to open her own franchise, and after 18 months of hard work and increasing dedication towards making her business a success, she finally left her position at United Way to focus on her franchise full-time.
