Peace of mind is the ultimate human good. Peace between men (and by logical extension, between nations) is the ultimate universal good. One of the reasons why peace has eluded mankind for centuries is a tragic lack of humility. Most of us seem to go through life holding up a mirror in which we see no one but ourselves. In the process, we, quite sadly, fail to see others’ viewpoints, and this is why most of us have a self-righteous propensity to judge others rather hastily, which in turn leads to strife between men, and, sometimes, wars between nations.
