In this week's episode, the Indy Team takes a look at the archaeology of alcohol and its impact on society and culture. We are joined by professor Dr. Frederick H. Smith, who speaks with us about the role of alcohol in the Caribbean and specifically Barbados. In particular, we discuss alcohol's relationship to capitalism and the fostering of colonial agendas, as well as its use as a stimulant by communities and people confronting the anxieties of the a rapidly modernizing world.
