Eric Reed, a lifetime horseman from a family of horsemen with his wife Kay also from a family steep in the horse racing industry, run the Mercury Equine Center in Lexington, Ky. Eric's father Herbert trained for over 40 years apprenticing under the guidance of Mack Miller. Eric has trained since 1983. Kay Reed’s mother and father were horse trainers as was her great uncle, Charlie Kurtsinger. She was working as an exercise rider before meeting Eric.
