The Inner Child refers to periods of our life where we felt fear and things were out of control. These periods stick with us through the coping skills we learned to get through them as children. Throughout or adulthood these coping skills can be continuously triggered and become a part of how we act and who we are. Usually, these coping skills are immature and fear based.
