Kim moved to Los Angeles to continue her pursuit of film and television work. She studied acting at Playhouse West under the direction of Robert Carnegie and Jeff Goldblum. Other fellow students included Ashley Judd, Shawnee Smith, and Christine Cavanaugh. Soon after her move, Kim was cast by Francis Ford Coppola_ in "Dracula" to do pickup shots for Monica Bellucci, where she worked alongside Sir Anthony Hopkins and Gary Oldman_.
