School’s Out: College Application Workshop, our special summer program taking students and families through the college application and finance process step-by-step makes its big debut as well as we discuss how to get started on the college essay. Finally, we’ll look at how to best choose a student loan.

Prior to joining College Coach, Jan Combs served as a high school guidance counselor and assisted students with their college admission, financial aid, and scholarship applications. Before that, she determined student financial aid eligibility, oversaw a number of scholarship and fellowship programs, and worked closely with students to guide them through the financial aid application process as an assistant director in the undergraduate financial aid office at Boston University and as a director at the Harvard University Graduate School of Education financial aid office. Kyra Tyler

Kyra Tyler has worked in a variety of roles in higher education. She began her career in admissions at Brandeis University, where she spearheaded the schools student of color recruitment effort. She also chaired a committee dedicated to offering scholarships and performance opportunities to talented chamber musicians. Prior to joining College Coach, Kyra was awarded a Presidential Fellowship from Harvard University, where she worked in development at the Harvard College Fund. She also worked at the Harvard Alumni Association while pursuing a Master of Education at the Graduate School of Education.
