Dean began his career in animal advocacy in 2001 when he was hired as a community relations director for a humane society in Dayton, Ohio. He volunteered in 2005 to assist in the animal rescue effort in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina and Rita. With a background in farm animals, and military training in decontamination and survival, his skills were quickly utilized in the Gulf region. He spent three weeks assisting with animal recovery of hundreds of animals. Since that opportunity he has worked for The Humane Society of The United States as the Ohio State Director. Dr. Charlotte Flint

Dr. Charlotte Flint has been with Pet Poison Helpline since 2010. She graduated from the University of Chicago with a BA degree in Psychology and then received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Iowa State University in 2002. After veterinary school, Dr. Flint completed a rotating small animal medicine and surgery internship at Michigan Veterinary Specialists in Southfield, Michigan and then worked as an emergency veterinarian for many years before transitioning to toxicology. Dr. Flint lives in the Twin Cities with her cats and Australian shepherd mix dog.
