Teenagers who are both talented athletes and strong students might be able to leverage those abilities in the Ivy League admissions process. We’ll investigate how that process works from the perspective of someone who was both an Ivy League recruited athlete and admissions officer. We’ll also explain how income-driven repayment plans work and talk through how to select a college major in Office Hours.

As an associate director of admissions at MIT, he directed overall recruitment and yield activities, as well as international, transfer, and special student admissions. He also served as an assistant director of admissions for Caltech, where he handled specialized student recruitment and reviewed domestic and international student files. Amy Alexander comes to College Coach after spending 17 years as an independent counselor. She began her admissions career as an assistant director in the Yale University undergraduate admissions office, where she was responsible for applications from a variety of regions, served as a liaison for the swim and lacrosse teams, and coordinated oncampus orientation programs and housing placement. During her time as an independent counselor, she was a member of the National Association of College Admission Counseling and the New Jersey Association of College Admission Counseling. Shannon Vasconcelos has worked in student financial assistance at Boston University and Tufts University School of Dental Medicine, where she served as the assistant director of financial aid. At Tufts, she was responsible for reviewing financial aid applications, determining financial aid awards, and helping families through the college financing process.
