On September 13th two survivors of intimate partner violence were our guests. “I might be fat, ugly, stupid and worthless but even I don’t deserve this.” These were her thoughts as her spouse jammed a double barrel shotgun to her throat. The second guest recalls that years of abuse by the hands of men caused her to believe that is what she deserved. She was molested as a little girl, raped, sodomized, beaten, choked and had a rifle held to her head. Obviously, they both escaped the abuse and are now advocates for victims.
