We discuss the how to identify the various levels of concern with children eating problems with two Speech and Language Pathologists from Solace Pediatric Healthcare, Mona Horn and Jenni DiGiacinto. When should you reach out to your pediatrician for a referral to a feeding therapist for an evaluation? What types of problems can be helped with by engaging the services of a feeding therapist? What is the difference between being picky and concerning? Solace has also started providing in-home services remotely which has greatly increased access to families in rural communities.

|
|
Mona Horn attended undergrad at Oklahoma State University and earned her graduate degree from the University of Tulsa with a Masters in Speech Language Pathology in 2006. Since then, she has focused her skill set on the pediatric populations. While still in Oklahoma, Mona began her career treating patients with feeding disorders in an outpatient pediatric clinic. She later moved to Denver, Colorado in 2011 where she began to treat pediatric patients with feeding disorders doing home health care. |
|
Jenni DiGiacinto, MS, CCC-SLP has immersed herself into the world of Pediatric Feeding Disorders, and has been a Pediatric Feeding Specialist since 2012. She became passionate about treating children with feeding challenges when she started her career at Phoenix Children's Hospital where she was part of the Multidisciplinary Pediatric Feeding Disorders Team and Intensive Feeding Program. She specialized in treating children 6 months to 8 years of age with mild to severe feeding difficulties, including working with children with enteral feedings.
