Rose joins with her segment, Bite Share talking about the importance of urban food policy, nutrition, and food access in our world today and the lack of access, food literacy, and nutritional foods to women of color or in lower income neighborhoods. Rose believes that attending an all-girls school has heightened her leadership skills and confidence and is thrilled to be helping elevate at-risk girls ages 11 to 21 in Haiti through the LIDÈ programs. Ruhani elaborates with statistics. According to UNESCO, 132 million girls are out of school with no access to education. Women throughout the globe suffer at a much larger scale than men. From sex-selective abortions to female genital mutilation, there are many cultural practices that discriminate against women. Every girl must have a right to education, and no woman must forced to conceive a child. Empower girls and women. Be a feminist. Each time a woman stands up for herself, without knowing it possibly, without claiming it, she stands up for all women.” – Maya Angelou VoiceAmerica | Talk Radio | Online Talk Radio studio@voiceamerica.com false DD/MM/YYYY Add to Calendar
