Ruhani talks about the competition, then interviews Melissa Larsen for her debut novel, Shutter. The premise of Shutter showcases a young woman who agrees to star in a filmmaker's latest project, but soon realizes the movie is not what she expected. The two discuss the importance of literature, the writing process, the road to publishing, the challenges of being a writer, and offer advice to budding writers. One major piece of solid advice for future authors: Write the book you want to read. Sharanya Roy joins with her segment The Scribble, where she describes literature as a time machine. She then explains how to dissect a piece of literature starting with the basic four segments of literature: character, plot, setting, and theme. These ladies are all accomplished writers and this episode on literature is revealing and rewarding. Write on!
