Lew Cox is the founder and director of Violent Crime Victim Services, Tacoma,
Washington. Lew has extensive experience as a homicide victim advocate, peer
court companion and as support group facilitator. He is a chaplain with the Des
Moines, Washington Police Department and in this capacity has endured the
homicide of one of the officers. Lew is trained in critical incident stress
debriefing and management. He was part of a five-man chaplain team that worked
at ground zero.
He is a survivor of the murder of his twenty-two year old daughter, Carmon, in
