In 1991 Genesse Gentry's twenty-one year old daughter Lori was killed in an automobile accident leaving a surviving sibling, Megan. Genesse is the Regional Coordinator for Northern California Compassionate Friends . Genesse is also a poet and author of Stars in the Deepest Night – After the Death of a Child. As a result of the murder of his son on the campus of the University of Tennessee in 1988, Tom Baer has, become a fierce advocate for college campus safety, and Crime Victims’ Rights. Tom serves on the national board of directors for The Compassionate Friends.
