Joe Nevills is a staff writer for Thoroughbred Times, a columnist for Arabian Finish Line, and an outspoken advocate for the parts of the horse racing industry that get lost in the margins. A native of Edmore, Michigan, where he grew up learning the sport from his grandfather, a Thoroughbred owner and breeder in the state's claiming ranks, he followed the exploits of his family's stable at Great Lakes Downs and Mount Pleasant Meadows.
