The landscape of international adoption has changed a great deal over the last 5 years. Some of the biggest changes have occurred in China. Tune in this week as we talk with Marissa Leuallen, Social Work Manager for Holt International’s China Program. We will discuss the changes that have occurred in China and most importantly the ongoing need to adopt children with special needs or older children. We clearly define the specific aspects of what special needs means and some of the very successful programs that Holt International has to help families bring their children home forever.

Marissa Leuallen has worked at Holt International for 8 years with several different country programs. She obtained her Masters of Social Work degree from Portland State University in 2010. Currently, she is the Social Work Manager for Holt’s China Program. Marissa connects with families who in the early stages of exploring the China adoption process. She also collaborates with direct service social workers and reviews adoption home studies, supports families adopting older children, and assists in program supervision.
