She will discuss how a set decorator plans the sets and interacts with the actors and directors to create an atmosphere that will bring the script and characters to life. She will talk about what inspires a set decorator in the process of creation and reveal some personal stories of various stars she has worked with.

Melinda Ritz is an acclaimed set decorator for film and television who has been nominated for seven Emmy awards, winning three in the category of Art Direction for the hit television show, “Will and Grace.” She has designed sets for “Basic Instinct,” “The Sinbad Show,” and “Hot in Cleveland.” She is a member of the Set Decorators Society of America and the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.
