That old nasty ego again, right? That’s what a good portion of the New Age world is thinking about right now. But seriously, is the ego really a problem to be overcome? Is the authentic person one who has overcome ego? Is there a conflict between authenticity and ego? Many would answer with a resounding “yes.” But I say “no.” There is no conflict between ego and authenticity. Ego is simply a liaison between the inner world and the outer world, without which we would either be absorbing too much outer world, or projecting too much inner world.
