Irving Fryar

Irving Fryar has the distinction of being the first wide receiver to have been chosen first overall in the NFL Draft. Fryar, who grew in New Jersey, began his career with the New England Patriots in 1984 and joined them in Super Bowl XX. Fryar would go on to play with the Miami Dolphins, Philadelphia Eagles, and Washington Redskins. In a career spanning 17 years, Fryar played in 5 ProBowls and was named All-Pro in 1985 and again in 1994. He ended his career with an impressive 851 receptions, 12,785 receiving yards and 84 touchdowns.
