Donald Redford

Donald Redford is a professor of Egyptology in the departments of Classics and Ancient Mediterranean Studies and History at the Pennsylvania State University. He is an internationally renowned scholar of ancient Egypt and Biblical studies, and a noted expert on the 18th Dynasty Amarna period. Dr. Redford is the author of several books, including Akhenaten, The Heretic King (Princeton, 1984) and Israel, Canaan & Egypt in Ancient Times (Princeton, 1992), and numerous articles. He has been frequently featured in series and documentaries on A&E, The History Channel, and the BBC. Prof. Redford has been the director of the Akhenaten Temple Project since 1972.
