Andrew McFerrin

Andrew McFerrin is from Clovis, California. He joined the U.S. Army when he was a junior in high school. Now in his 11th year with the California National Guard, Andrew is a three-tour combat veteran. He joined the Veterans Green Jobs wildland firefighting program in April 2012, just one month after returning from his third tour. He was hired for the California Conservation Corps in Placerville, California. The day after his U.S. Forest Service training ended, he was hired as a firefighter on an Engine 33 with the El Dorado National Forest.

Martha Diepenbrock

Martha Diepenbrock is director of External Affairs for the California Conservation Corps (CCC). She was appointed by Governor Jerry Brown and is responsible for development, legislative affairs and communications. Martha rejoined the CCC where she worked in field and headquarters positions in the early days of the CCC. In the intervening years, she helped launch a public charter school in Oakland, and served in various capacities for youth development and policy organizations, including serving as founding director for the Los Angeles Conservation Corps.
