As it is currently estimated in the U.S. one in eight women face a lifetime risk of being diagnosed with breast cancer. The pressure is on to identify potential causes, preventive measures, and, once diagnosed, more effective treatments. While many women survive for extended periods, the anticipation of mastectomy, chemotherapy, and/or radiation calls for nothing short of bravery, and the experience of these treatments requires support on every level of the woman’s being.
