Lauren Bjorkman is the author of two YA novels, MY INVENTED LIFE and MISS FORTUNE COOKIE. She grew up on a sailboat, sharing the tiny forecastle with her sister and the sail bags. They are still friends. For 5 years her family sailed from California to Florida, across the Atlantic, and back to Brazil and Argentina. On the voyage, Lauren and her sister sewed clothes for stuffed animals, became excellent beachcombers, and wrote inappropriate lyrics to old songs. Jayne Amelia Larson

Jayne Amelia Larson is an actress, writer, and independent film producer based in Los Angeles, and has also been an occasional chauffeur between gigs. She has degrees from Cornell University and from Harvard University’s American Repertory Theatre Institute. Her one-woman show, Driving the Saudis, has been performed in Memphis, Ithaca, Boston, Roanoke, and Vienna (Austria), and won Best Solo Show at the 2010 New York Fringe International Festival. She is one of ten children and is an excellent driver. Her preferred mode of transportation is a pink beach cruiser, pictured here. She’s had three other bikes stolen but isn’t bitter about it.
