In this episode, we interviewed Maura Pally, Executive Director for Secretary Clinton at the Clinton Foundation about her work at the White House, the State Department, and now the Clinton Foundation and what she loves about her current position and what she is doing with their newest “No Ceilings” Program. We also had the opportunity to speak with Penny Abeywardena about her position at the Clinton Global Initiative and how she will be involved in applying the “gender” lens to their various Programs and her work with the “Women & Girls” track at CGI. Bianca Bracht
|
Bianca Bracht is majoring in Biomedical Engineering and minoring in Chinese and Chemistry. She grew up speaking German, Portuguese, and English, and has learned Swahili and Chinese. During her time at Duke, she has become involved in Engineering World Health, and is currently leading a project in the Duke University chapter of EWH. In addition, Bianca has had work experience as an intern at a mechanical engineering company, Bosch Rexroth. In her spare time, she's interested in photography and film. She currently serves as the Chief Marketing Officer and focuses on visual promotional media for Girls Engineering Change.

Melina Smith
|
Melina is a Duke senior majoring in Biomedical Engineering. Having grown up in the Triangle area, she is very excited about her role as Chief of Regional Outreach. She is a member of the Duke chapter of Engineering World Health and spent the past summer in Tanzania through a DukeEngage program repairing medical equipment in developing-world hospitals. She is involved in the Pratt Academic Action Committee, is the Wellness Advocate for her sorority, Alpha Phi, and is part of the Nutrition Education Task force.

Maura Pally
|
As the executive director for the Office of Hillary Rodham Clinton at the Clinton Foundation, Maura guides strategic direction, program development, and engagement efforts across the Secretary’s initiatives, including No Ceilings: The Full Participation Project, which works to advance the status of women and girls around the world; Too Small to Fail, which aims to close the word gap and promote early literacy for children ages zero to five; and Job One, which mobilizes businesses and organizations to create employment pathways for disconnected youth in the United States.
