Marcus will share with us how he has had, not one, but TWO dream careers! He will share his story of how the opportunity to draw Dennis came about and how he seized the moment, moving into the second career. Marcus credits his strong views of faith and family as the cornerstones of his success.

Marcus Hamilton

Marcus Hamilton was born in Lexington, NC and graduated from Atlantic Christian College in Wilson, majoring in Commercial Art. In 1965, he and his wife, Kaye, moved to Charlotte, NC where he worked in the Art Department of WBTV. In 1972, Marcus began a career as a freelance illustrator doing artwork for such publications as Golf Digest and Saturday Evening Post. But in 1993 his life and career took an abrupt turn when he responded to a TV interview in which Hank Ketcham, creator of Dennis The Menace, suggested that he would someday like to retire.
