Dr. Gregory Chris Brown

Gregory C. (Chris) Brown is an Associate Professor of Criminal Justice at CSUF. After receiving his Ph.D. in Social Ecology from the University of California, Irvine, in 1990, with an emphasis in Criminology, his first teaching job was at U.C. Santa Barbara. From there he was hired as an Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice at Chapman University in Orange, California from 1991 to 1997. He taught at the California Youth Authority in Whittier for three years, and worked part time at CSUF from 2003 to 2005. His research has focused on white collar crime, taggers, prisons and gangs. Presently he is conducting research on gangs and the social media and African American original gang members
