Free elections and a succession of leaders from a wealthy upper class representing about 2% of the population have brought durable stability. The current president, Daniel Ortega, promotes tourism to combat poverty. Rancho Santana, backed by Agora in Baltimore, is selling real property in every form. Nicaragua has a high rating for safety and is a great way to get money out the shaky US economy and enjoy luxury living with privacy.
