Victor D. Thompson is Associate Professor of Anthropology and the Director of the Center for Archaeological Sciences at the University of Georgia. His primary interests are in the Native American societies and early European colonists that occupied the coastal and wetland areas of the American Southeast. The focus of these studies is to understand the long-term dynamics between humans and their environments and how these trajectories experienced ruptures and displacement at the moment of European contact.
