The Green Oceanside campaign was established to educate residents, businesses and visitors about how to be better stewards of the earth and to implement programs that protect and conserve natural resources. Through collaboration and partnerships between City departments, local businesses, community groups, schools and residents, the Green Oceanside campaign provides an avenue for the public to learn how to actively protect the environment through community involvement and engagement

As the program coordinator of the Oceanside School District’s Zero Waste Initiative, she has worked to implement the program in 11 of the 23 schools throughout OUSD. In addition she has worked with the OUSD District Administration to implement policy, procedure and purchasing changes to support Zero Waste at OUSD.

Lisa Contreras is the Director of Communication for the Oceanside Unified School District. She has been with the district for almost a year and is responsible for developing, coordinating and implementing internal and external communication programs. Ms. Contreras has been in the communications field for over 15 years.
