When Knopp was 54, she realized that the severe food restricting that had left her sick and small when she was 15 and 25 had returned. Now deep into middle age, she was full of urgent questions and determined to understand her malady. Knopp’s essays have appeared in numerous literary publications including the Missouri Review, Michigan Review, Iowa Review, Gettysburg Review, Brevity: A Journal of Concise Literary Nonfiction and Creative Nonfiction.
