Some of the most famous buildings in the city are from this era: The Apthorp, the San Remo, and the Dakota, 740 Park for example. Today, newly constructed condos often look to their prewar forebears for design inspiration including 15 Central Park West, Robert A.M. Stern’s super luxury tower right off of Columbus Circle. But most new condo development is glass tower architecture rising tall into the sky and skyline of NYC.
