It is your role as a manager to help your employees to know they are significant to you and that they are making a noticeable difference in your organization and in the world. If your direct reports to you knows you think they are significant, you will dramatically increase their engagement. How do you demonstrate someone is significant to you? Genuine caring is not merely a feeling you have; it means extending yourself to that person and taking action.
