I hear you but are you listening?
December 5, 2019
Hosted by Gord Riddell with Co-Host Dr. Jan Hill
If our hearing is intact we have the ability to hear voices, music and of course, noise. But there is a difference between hearing and actually listening. How many times have you ever had someone say,"Are you listening to me" or "You are not listening to what I am saying" Listening is a skill, one we should be taught early on in life but usually that is not the case. Much of our disagreements stem from hearing what someone said, filtering it through our perceptions and responding according to what we think we heard. Listening is the intention act of wanting to understand another person's viewpoint or experience, genuinely understand. It requires first that we stop talking. This episode gives some skills to help you listen better. If we were made in the Creator's image, there is a good reason we have 2 ears and only one mouth, perhaps we should learn to use them proportionately. Join Jan and Gord for this weeks Episode of "Things Worth Considering" Are you listening to me?
Things Worth Considering
Thursday at 5 PM Pacific Time on VoiceAmerica Empowerment Channel
This is a show about connections. Connections to your self, your spirit, your feelings and your story. We know one of the most powerful healing tools we have is our connections. Explore connecting to your intuition and those aha moments. Discover how we get in our own way and how we can overcome obstacles to move on. We will discover that how we think, what we believe, and our attitude defines how we experience our life. Fascinating is the idea that we shape our reality to what we believe it should be, in our minds. Connection to our families, our aging family members and becoming caregivers, not caretakers.
Reality of our self aging, not into senior citizens but embracing the archetypal Elder, the Wise One. Living the Spiritual idea of being of service but not feeling like someone’s servant. Moving forward, with our guests, we will connect to each other embracing the mysteries of life as we explore the many roads of the human journey and those will be things worth considering.
