Ida Muorie, Host of Sportsmavericks Show welcomes Parent Heart Watch, a parent advocate group for prevention of Sudden Cardiac Arrest in youth. The victims of this sudden attack are as young as 8, and it is occurring in 1 out of 350 young athletes every year. What should be done and how do we prevent it? Ida's special guest Martha Lopez-Anderson, Chair of Parent Heart Watch a 19 year community advocate in sports and education, and Joseph C. Marek, MD. member of Parent Heart Watch Advisory Board, Clinical Cardiologist with Midwest Heart Specialist and Founder and Medical Director of the Young Hearts for Life™ Cardiac Screening Program, Medical Director, Project ADAM Illinois have a lot to say about the subject matter. Martha had a son Sean that passed away unexpectedly at the age of 10 from a sudden cardiac arrest while rollerblading in their neighborhood.
