What do light healing, natural agriculture and art have in common? On today’s show, Roy Gibbon, from the Educational Department of Shumei’s American National Center, will talk about the Shumei Organization, spiritual healing using “Jyorei,” the importance of natural agriculture, the Shumei focus on art and beauty and how all of these aspects of Shumei can benefit the average person. You will find out some of the history of Shumei, what is done at the centers, what selfless service entails, how anyone can learn how to give and receive Jyorei, and how you can become involved in Shumei practices. Roy will introduce Rosann Spetti of the Shumei Santa Cruz Center, and she will share what goes on at the Center, from the spiritual practices and work in the fields to the tours for visitors. Shumei can help all of us view nature with reverence and respect, and learn how to become proponents of natural agriculture and a more sustainable way of life.

Dr. Susan Allison
Dr. Susan Allison has a doctorate in transpersonal psychology and maintains a private practice in Santa Cruz, California. She is also an ordained and licensed interfaith minister, a clinical hypnotherapist, a shamanic practitioner, a healer and healing coach, and practices energy medicine using Reiki and The Reconnection. She is the author of three books: Conscious Divorce, Ending a Marriage with Integrity, published by Three Rivers Press; Breathing Room, by Park Place Publishers; and recently, Empowered Healer, Gain the Confidence, Power and Ability to Heal Yourself, through Balboa Press/Hay House. She has been published dozens of times for her poetry and creative non-fiction, has been honored as a Woman of the Year in California for her counseling work, and currently sees herself as an empowering healing coach. Her mission is to help the planet heal, by helping its people become more empowered, transformed and fulfilled.
