This week on Autism Spectrum Radio we discuss the continuing need to promote autism awareness, education and inclusion. Unfortunately the increased rate of autism diagnoses does not naturally equate to more community awareness. In many cases, the peers of our kids with autism can be powerful advocates for creating an informed school experience and more hopeful future of inclusion. This week, host Rob Haupt explores some of the ways autism awareness is being approached with our kids. Rob is excited to welcome two of the young creators of The Six Degree Project a group that is gaining great media attention for their innovative celebrity connection campaign for autism awareness. Rob Haupt
Rob Haupt is a passionate professional in the field of autism. His knowledge of autism services, treatment options and insurance coverage has made him a popular guest speaker to advocate groups. He also shares tips for parents through his weekly video blog.
Rob is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst with over 12 years of experience treating individuals with Development Disabilities. He currently serves as Vice President of Business Development at Autism Spectrum Therapies (AST), an agency that provides Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), Occupational Therapy and Speech to individuals with Autism. In his role with AST, Rob has collaborated with parents, teachers, and schools to support better understanding of autism health insurance mandates and how to effectively use insurance coverage.
