Dr. Diane Schneider

As a geriatrician and epidemiologist, Dr. Diane Schneider’s career has focused on prevention and treatment of osteoporosis. In the university setting, she has been part of key bone health research and care. She has identified lifestyle and risk factors for osteoporosis in both men and women. Her research findings have been published in the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA), Archives of Internal Medicine, and prestigious medical journals. She has served as an investigator in clinical trials for new pharmacologic treatments of osteoporosis. Dr. Schneider retired from the University of California, San Diego (UCSD) where she was Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine. She continues collaboration as a consultant with her colleagues in the UCSD Osteoporosis Research Group and is active within the bone research community. Her current activities focus on education of bone health for all ages and stages through 4BoneHealth.
