Suzan E. Fraser
Suzan E. Fraser is a lawyer specializing in constitutional and administrative law with over 15 years’ experience in public interest, social justice, children’s rights and mental health issues. She regularly appears as counsel in a variety of forums including the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario, the Ontario Review Board, the Consent and Capacity Board and Ontario’s Coroners courts and all levels of court in Canada. She leads and is a member of the Court of Appeal for Ontario’s Amicus Curiae Panel for Mentally Disordered Offenders. Her career has been dedicated to advancing the rights and interest of vulnerable people by representing them, their families and public interest groups in a variety of forums. Through this work, she has developed a unique understanding of the discrimination and vulnerability that persons with mental health problems face, the experiences of their caregivers and the systemic challenges to advancing their rights.
