Marc Bekoff

Dr. Marc Bekoff, PhD is professor emeritus of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology at the University of Colorado. He is a former Guggenheim Fellow and has received the Exemplar Award for long-term contributions to the field of animal behavior from the Animal Behavior Society.Marc is co-founder with Jane Goodall of Ethologists for the Ethical Treatment of Animals and also co-author with Jane of The Ten Trusts. He writes regularly for Psychology Today and has published over 1000 essays and 31 books including The Emotional Lives of Animals and his new book, Unleashing Your Dog: A Field Guide to Giving Your Canine Companion the Best Life Possible, co-authored with Jessica Pierce. In 2005 Marc was presented with The Bank One Faculty Community Service Award for the work he has done with children, senior citizens, and prisoners.
