Clare Brown

Ms. Brown is the Program Head for the Master of Arts in Exhibition Design program at the Corcoran School of the Arts and Design at The George Washington University. She has been a professor of exhibition design for eight years and a practicing exhibition designer for nearly 20 years. Most recently she held the position of Exhibition Designer at the National Museum of American History. Ms. Brown grew up living in Africa and Asia and draws personal inspiration from international arts and cultures. As a designer with a background in cultural anthropology, Ms. Brown has a strong focus on human-centered design, bringing ethnographic methods and design-thinking to the exhibition design process. Ms. Brown's current areas of research and interest focus on pushing the boundaries of medium of Exhibition Design, the intersections of space and meaning, and experiential design.
