Uri Nir
URI NIR is the Dean, Associate Professor and Chairman of the Biotechnology Program of the Mina and Everard Faculty ofLife Sciences at Bar-Ilan. He is a recipient of the Rothschild Award, Yigal Alon Fellowship and the Special Research Grant Award (Melul Foundation) for the Israel Cancer Association. His research deals with the cellular function of molecular biology of cancer and inflammatory diseases and he is currently engaged in the development of a new anti-cancer drug. He was Chairman of the Department of Life Sciences at Bar-Ilan, a Visiting Scientist at the Samuel Lunenfeld Research Institute, Mount Sinai Hospital in Canada, and Chairman of the Israeli Society for Developmental Biology.
