Lyna is the founder & President of The African Nurses Network, Inc.(TANN), a non-profit organization whose mission is to empower nurses to decrease health disparities & promote cultural awareness. She is a creative RN with 15+ years’ experience who is currently serving as Admin. Mgr. at N. Memorial Hospital. Lyna has a Mini MBA from St. Thomas Univ, St Paul, MN & holds a BScN degree from Metropolitan State Univ, St. Paul, MN. She graduated Phi Theta Kappa with her AD’s degree from N. Hennepin Community College, Brooklyn Park, MN, & Nrsg Diploma from Rock Valley College in Rockford, IL. Lyna is pursuing her DNP. She graduated as Outstanding Student of The Year 2009 from Metropolitan State Univ, St Paul, MN. She was a nominee for Nurse of the Year 2016 by March of Dimes, MN. She received the 2017 Creative Nursing Award by the MN Nurses Assoc, the 2017 National Role Model Award by Minority Access Inc. of Washington D.C & 2017 Women of Global Solutions by iChange Nations, Grand Rapids MI
