Beverly Lanzetta

Dr. Beverly Lanzetta’s extensive career in studying global spirituality began more than thirty years ago. After a deep childhood conversion experience she spent several years as a spiritual director, teacher and healer. Later, after having received her PhD from Fordham University, she served as Professor of Religious Studies at several liberal arts colleges including Grinnell College, Prescott College and Villanova University. She is author and editor of six books, including "The Emerging Heart: Global Spirituality and the Sacred" and "Radical Wisdom: A Feminist Mystical Theology," as well as several articles. As an ordained Interfaith minister and monastic, she is the founder of four faith initiatives: Desert Interfaith Church, Interfaith Theological Seminary, Hesychia School for Spiritual Directors and Schola Divina. A respected retreat leader and contemplative educator, she is currently affiliated with the University of New Mexico, Albuquerque, as a research scholar.
