Marques Ogden

Growing up in a single parent home with a father who inspired perseverance & fairness, Marques Ogden learned how to define his values and set goals. Attending Howard University and playing Division I football, he followed his dream and brother Jonathan’s footsteps, and was drafted into the NFL in 2003. He played for 5 years as an offensive lineman with the Titans, Bills, Ravens and Jaguars; then decided to retire and pursue a career in construction and contracting. At age 27, Marques founded construction company Kayden Premier Enterprises, which experienced rapid growth—in 2010 winning The African American Subcontractor of the Year Award. After losing almost $2 million on one project in a matter of 90 days the business went bankrupt. During his darkest hours, Marques pulled himself together, got a part-time job as a custodian, and persevered to turnaround the situation. Now CEO of Ogden Ventures LLC, Marques is a keynote speaker, executive coach, consultant, and best-selling author.
